The Importance of Play and Friendship

We focus on each child’s well-being and ensure that each child experiences effective learning and enjoys a sense of happiness in an atmosphere of care, support and security.

We believe that each child deserves the strongest start in their learning & development to nurture their curiosity, creativity and enquiry through high quality play experiences and opportunities. Staff are indeed aspirational and have an enabling attitude which supports children to achieve their potential. Using skilled questioning, staff interact in a sensitive, responsive and stimulating way to promote curiosity, independence and confidence. Understanding the importance of play, we recognise the importance of fun in children’s play to enable learning to be taken forward.

The Importance of Support for Children and Partnership with Parents

With the involvement of parents and partners, we encourage the emotional, intellectual, physical, social and mental wellness of every child. We will endeavour to support and develop each child’s capacity to become Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Effective contributors.

We make sure that each child feels involved in their learning and work together to promote healthy choices in all areas of life.

Our approach underpins the importance to involve and engage parents in their child’s learning and in the life of the nursery. Building upon the values of respect, inclusion and support we work with families to ensure the strongest start for each child.

Importance of the Outdoors

We believe in the power of the great outdoors and the wonder of nature. Getting outside is imperative to wellbeing, physical and mental health. At Rosemount we enjoy the scope of learning our wonderful garden promotes and benefit from wonderful areas around our community. Members of our staff team are accredited with Forest Kindergarten qualification (SCQF) Level 7. Taking a whole centre approach, we apply this ethos across the nursery to ensure that children have meaningful opportunities to play and learn outdoors.

Children’s Development and Learning Through Play

Across the age groups, we will support & extend each child’s learning through a blend of challenging and appropriate planned and child-initiated experiences and opportunities.

The design and resourcing of our playrooms promote active learning, personalisation and choice through purposeful and enjoyable play.
