About Us

A Place to Shine

With our progressive and holistic early childhood education philosophy, we understand that each child has unique needs and interests. We provide the environment and supportive relationships your child needs to thrive and develop to the best of their abilities.

As an established Partner Provider with Perth & Kinross Council, we provide high quality early learning and childcare for children from birth to 5 years of age.

Providing 1140 funded hours for eligible children, we are open from 7.30- 6pm, 51 weeks each year.

At Rosemount we believe that every child is unique, complex and individual. Developing a sense of adventure, we will bring out every child's potential in an atmosphere of fun, warmth and safety.  We are imaginative in creating a wide range of opportunities for cultural, social, emotional and intellectual development.

Earning the trust of all children and parents through consistency, fairness and our constant willingness to listen and learn we will work collaboratively with other providers who share these values.

Rosemount is itself a special place and we are committed to maintaining it as a viable and valued part of the community, building partnerships across our locale.

At Rosemount we work hard to ensure that the promotion of the Rights of each child and their wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, upholding the Scottish Government approach to Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC). Staff recognise that all families will have differing needs whilst receiving equal and appropriate support to meet their needs.

With a dedicated approach to improving the wellbeing of children, we ensure that:

  • We put the best interests of the child at the heart of decision making

  • Ensure a holistic approach to the wellbeing of a child

  • We work with children, young people and their families on ways to improve wellbeing

  • We recognise and advocate any necessary early intervention to support children, young people and their families

  • Believe that all professionals must work together in the best interests of the child.

We welcome and facilitate extended settling in opportunities for all children whether moving in, on or up at Rosemount. We extend this opportunity to parents through virtual opportunities to meet, garden visits, virtual tours and managed nursery visits. During the transition time for children moving on to Primary 1, we have many years of experience of working with the teaching staff for receiving Primary Schools and each year coordinate a programme of school visits and teacher exchanges.

Louise Smart, the manager and owner of Rosemount has lead the team for 25 years and continues to invest in her academic professional development within the education sector.

The team's aspirational and enabling attitude supports the children to achieve their potential. Using skilled questioning, staff interact in a sensitive, responsive and stimulating way to promote curiosity, independence and confidence through the process of play.
